Upon completion of the article by Schuette et al., the participant should be able to:
  • List the most common indications for biopsy in the patients in this study.
  • State the most common pathologies seen on biopsy of these patients.
  • State how often brain biopsy in this study resulted in a change of treatment, start of a new treatment, or resulted in meaningful therapeutic benefit.
  • Discuss the rate of post-operative hemorrhage as a complication of brain biopsy in this study.
  • Perform an informed discussion of the risks and benefits of biopsy in similar clinical situations as those described in this study.
