PREDICTIVE POWER OF INTERICTAL EPILEPTIFORM DISCHARGES IN FITNESS-TO-DRIVE EVALUATION

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the article by Krestel et al, the participant should be able to:

  • Describe how reaction times during driving evaluations were prolonged based on the presence of different types of interictal epileptiform discharges (IEDs) in this study
  • State to what degree the presence of IEDs, compared with normal EEG, increased the odds of a miss and/or crash during driving simulator testing in this study
  • Discuss how reaction time prolongations with IEDs seen with this study compared to reaction time prolongations associated with alcohol intoxication
