INTERFACILITY TRANSFERS FOR SEIZURE-RELATED EMERGENCIES IN THE UNITED STATES

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the article by Acton et al, the participant should be able to:

  • State how the transfer rate for emergency department visits for seizure-related emergencies changed per year between 2009–2018 in this study
  • Identify patient-level factors seen more commonly among patients with status epilepticus (SE) who were transferred vs patients with SE who were not transferred in this study
  • Describe how specific hospital-level predictors were seen more commonly in transferring hospitals for seizure-related emergencies vs admitting hospitals in this study
