ASSOCIATION BETWEEN CHANGE IN LEISURE-TIME PHYSICAL ACTIVITY DURING THE POSTRETIREMENT PERIOD AND INCIDENT STROKE

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the article by Li et al, the participant should be able to:

  • Describe how certain patient factors differed between patients who remained inactive during the postretirement period based on 2008 and 2013 surveys vs those who became or remained active in this study
  • State the degree to which stroke risk was increased in patients whose activity level declined between the 2008 and 2013 surveys, compared to participants who remained active, in this study
  • Discuss how a decline in physical activity between 2008 and 2013 survey results affected risk of incident stroke among a population of patients with high body-mass index in this study
