PREDICTION OF HIDDEN CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE USING MACHINE LEARNING IN PATIENTS WITH ACUTE ISCHEMIC STROKE

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the article by Heo et al, the participant should be able to:

  • State the prevalence of obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) (stenosis >50%) discovered using multidetector coronary CT among a cohort of patients with acute ischemic stroke in this study
  • Describe how the predictive ability of multidetector coronary CT compared with other predictive techniques and tools in identifying obstructive and nonobstructive CAD in patients with acute ischemic stroke in this study
  • Discuss how the rates of adverse cardiovascular events and other outcomes differed between patients with acute ischemic stroke with and without CAD, as measured by multidetector coronary CT, in this study
