SAFETY OF ASPIRIN USE IN PATIENTS WITH STROKE AND SMALL UNRUPTURED ANEURYSMS

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the article by Weng et al, the participant should be able to:
  • State the risk of aneurysm rupture amongst patients in this study with previously unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIA) who were taking aspirin
  • Discuss patient-specific and aneurysm-specific factors that were associated with subsequent rupture of a previous UIA over the course of follow-up in this study
  • Describe how use of aspirin affected the risk of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke events in patients with UIA and a prior history of cerebrovascular disease in this study
