PATHOLOGIC TEARFULNESS AFTER LIMBIC ENCEPHALITIS: A NOVEL DISORDER AND ITS NEURAL BASIS

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the article by Argyropoulos et al, the participant should be able to:

  • State the percentage of patients in the postactute stage of autoimmune limbic encephalitis recruited to this study who developed pathologic tearfulness
  • Discuss the relationship between measures of emotional regulation, when compared to healthy controls, and pathologic tearfulness found in this study
  • Discuss which brain structures demonstrated atrophy associated with pathologic tearfulness in this study
