CLINICAL RISK FACTORS IN SUDEP: A NATIONWIDE POPULATION-BASED CASE-CONTROL STUDY

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the article by Sveinsson et al, the participant should be able to:

  • Discuss what clinical variable, when adjusted for in this study, resulted in previously associated risk factors no longer being associated with sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP)
  • State clinical factors associated with a decreased risk of SUDEP in this study
  • State approximately how much higher was the risk of SUDEP for patients with 4 or more generalized tonic-clonic seizures (GTCS) who lived alone in this study
