THE ROLE OF SMALL DIFFUSION-WEIGHTED IMAGING LESIONS IN CEREBRAL SMALL VESSEL DISEASE

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the article by Wiegertjes et al, the participant should be able to:

  • State the incidence of new small diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) lesions on serial MRIs done in a population of patients with small vessel disease in this study
  • Describe differences in clinical characteristics and demographic factors seen between patients with and without new DWI lesions on follow-up MRI scans in this study
  • Describe how the presence of new DWI lesions on serial MRI scans was associated with progression of other abnormal MRI findings in this population of patients with small vessel disease
