LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the article by Nakken et al, the participant should be able to:

  • State the degree to which increased BMI at the time of mandatory tuberculosis screening impacted the subsequent risk of ALS diagnosis in the cohort observed in this study
  • Discuss how the association between baseline BMI and ALS risk changed as the length of the observation period following BMI measurement increased in this study
  • Describe how ALS risk differed among patients who had subsequent weight changes after their initial assessments in this study
