LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the article by Chen et al, the participant should be able to:

  • Discuss how the frequency and range of different event manifestations witnessed by observers differed across syncopal events, epileptic seizures, and psychogenic nonepileptic seizures (PNES) in this study
  • Identify specific features of events that differed according to their underlying cause (syncope, epilepsy, PNES) in this study
  • Describe how observer-reported factors, patient-reported factors, and the combination of these factors were able to differentiate events as being caused by syncope or epilepsy in this study
