PROSPECTIVE ASSOCIATION BETWEEN β2-MICROGLOBULIN LEVELS AND ISCHEMIC STROKE RISK AMONG WOMEN

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the article by Rist et al, the participant should be able to:

  • Discuss the association between β2-microglobulin (B2M) levels and risk of ischemic stroke observed in this study
  • Describe the effect of elevated B2M on stroke risk in the subset of women with normal kidney function in this study
  • Identify which types of strokes were more closely associated with elevated B2M levels in this study
