NERVE ULTRASOUND: A USEFUL SCREENING TOOL FOR PERIPHERAL NERVE SHEATH TUMORS IN NF1?

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the article by Telleman et al, the participant should be able to:

  • State the incidence of ultrasound-identified neurofibromas in this study of patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1)
  • Discuss the relationship between clinical signs of peripheral nerve dysfunction and patient characteristics, ultrasound results, and nerve conduction studies (NCS) seen in this study
  • Discuss the incidence of abnormal ultrasound and abnormal nerve conduction studies observed in patients with NF1 in this study
