LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the article by Yaffe et al, the participant should be able to:

  • Discuss patient-level characteristics associated with poorer olfaction at study baseline, as measured by odor identification (OI)
  • Describe the relationship between OI performance and future risk of dementia in both white and black study participants
  • Discuss how the presence of APOE4 allele status modified the relationship between OI performance and future risk of dementia
