LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the article by Abrahao et al, the participant should be able to:

  • Discuss attitudes of physicians and other health care providers regarding the rights of patients to have access to physician-assisted death (PAD)
  • Discuss providers’ opinions on necessary steps in the evaluation of a patient with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) who is considering PAD
  • Identify provider characteristics that may influence attitudes regarding the role of PAD in patients with ALS
