PARANEOPLASTIC NEUROLOGIC DISORDERS IN SMALL CELL LUNG CARCINOMA: A PROSPECTIVE STUDY
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of the article by Gozzard et al, the participant should be able to:
- Recognize that small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC) is the most common tumor associated with paraneoplastic neurologic disorders (PNDs)
- Recognize that the frequency of the entire range of PNDs and neuronal antibodies in SCLC has not previously been determined systematically
- Discuss the findings from this study systematically assessing the incidence and range of PNDs in SCLC
CORE COMPETENCIES:
The article by Gozzard et al covers the following core competency:
- Medical Knowledge
ESTROGEN ACTIONS IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM: COMPLEXITY AND CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of the article by Cersosimo et al, the participant should be able to:
- Recognize that estrogens exert important modulatory functions in the CNS
- Discuss the basic mechanisms underlying estrogens’ actions in the CNS
